Meet our team

Coleen Stevens Porcher is a nationally respected nonprofit executive and thought partner with nearly three decades of leadership across early childhood, education, health, and human services. Her work sits at the intersection of developmental science, public policy, and organizational strategy, with a sustained focus on improving outcomes for children and families while strengthening the systems that serve them.

She is the Executive Director of Power of Two, a partner project of the Fund for the City of New York, which delivers Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up (ABC), a rigorously studied parenting intervention developed by Dr. Mary Dozier, to caregivers of children from infancy through early childhood across New York City. Since 2015, Power of Two has reached more than 12,000 program participants, demonstrating strong outcomes in caregiver well-being, parental sensitivity, and children’s socio-emotional development.

Coleen leads with a commitment to evidence, equity, and effectiveness, and champions responsible innovation in early childhood, including earlyBIRD, a randomized clinical trial led by Dr. Kristin Bernard that tests more efficient and equitable ways to scale evidence-based parenting support. Her work is informed by developmental science and the economics of early childhood, including research demonstrating high returns on sustained investment in young children and families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in history (with a minor in Spanish) from Vassar College and a master’s degree in public administration from New York University.
