Sasha Carbone, Nominating and Governance Committee Chair

Sasha Carbone is the Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of the American Arbitration Association. She is based at the company’s New York headquarters. Her responsibilities include providing legal counsel to the American Arbitration Association and its international division, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, on a broad range of issues, particularly in the areas of dispute resolution, corporate governance, cybersecurity, data privacy, employment and contract management.

Ms. Carbone is also Chair of the AAA’s Diversity Committee. As Chair, she launched the AAA Higginbotham Fellows Program in 2009 in order to provide training, mentorship and networking opportunities to up and coming diverse alternative dispute resolution professionals.

Prior to joining the American Arbitration Association in 2003, Ms. Carbone worked as a litigation associate in law firms in Washington, D.C. and New York, where her practice focused on commercial litigation. She graduated from the University of Southern California cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1993 and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1996, where she was an editor of the Women’s Law Journal.
